There is huge demand for the perfectly joined lamella edge for immediate subsequent processing into panels or boards. A perfect lamella edge, which may of necessity follow the preceding block curvature, is often required in the case of long lamellas in order to achieve maximum material yield.

In accordance with these requirements, WINTERSTEIGER has developed the copy-planing unit which in-line with the DSB thin-cutting band saw makes yet another contribution towards optimisation of the timber yield.
